: How to make dealer think i dont own a diablo?
JhnZ71 05-19-2005, 09:16 PM Hi,
Recently i had sucess loading the diablo 85hp tune into my truck. I removed it and pressed the "return to stock". Is this all i need to do to fool the dealer, and make them think im toatlly stock?
Max Power 05-19-2005, 09:23 PM Yep!
JhnZ71 05-19-2005, 10:00 PM I heard from someone that they can still see that the fueling rates were way to high for stock and know? Any truth to this?
lakingslayer 05-19-2005, 11:37 PM It depends on why you are taking it in. Generally they won't do any more than needed to get a repair done especially if under warranty. If there is something significantly wrong the dealer will contact GM and GM may want more details and could possibly find something that indicated you downloaded another program.
T-Rex 05-19-2005, 11:46 PM Chips throw off the DICs calculated MPG. I would think, if they chose to look at it, that a higher than expected MPG would give cause for suspicion. Couple that with the rest of your mods, their suspicion would not irrational.
ob_1jr 05-20-2005, 01:15 AM That's ok, you can reset the MPG. That is pretty easy.
T-Rex 05-20-2005, 01:44 AM Personal trip MPG, yes.
Overall average MPG?
Grey Ghost 05-20-2005, 03:48 AM Deny, deny, deny, deny everything.
Service Manager, "Our Tech2 data is indicating your truck may have had "chip" in it."
You, "A chip?! Are you crazy? I would NEVER have one of those things on MY truck. These trucks cost way too much to screw them up with one of those."

They have to prove the chip caused the problem/failure before they can deny warranty claim. And thats only after they prove there was one on there in the first place.

I can on my truck. If you have the DIC and steering wheel controls you just hold the return button down for 2-3 seconds. Works like a charm.
ratlover 05-20-2005, 09:16 AM You also might not want to leave it in the back seat or the instructions on the dash ;)
IIRC the dealer can also see that your truck has been reflashed x times but I'm not positive on that. Like was said....deny deny deny
Edit: and clean the soot off the bumper and back 1/4 panel):h
