Okay guys or gals. I have the BD manifold and installed my probe in the bung hole that it is made for. Now i got efi live set on the highest tune that my tranny can handled and drag raced it and also brought my truck to top speed and held it there for long time my temps went to 1900 (they also settled there or level off) on my gauge almost maxed out the gauge and i've done this for awhile no problems with me engine yet and no shavings in the oil or silver color. Did i install the probe in the right spot for my truck? Like my buddy has a LB7 and he put the probe after the turbo and hes got a built tranny with wilder tunes then mine and his exhaust temps don't even come close to mine (his engine is also stock and no engine problems either)

1900* !!! :weld::eek:
The probe is in the right location. The stock turbo is rated for 1368* continuous duty. Short bursts >1500* are ok as long as you don't maintain that temp for long, example...1/4 mile drag race or a sled pull = high temps in short bursts. When you say "Held it there for a long time" it makes me worry.
I would look at your tune, a good tune that is within "Stock Tranny Safe" limits shouldn't have EGT problems.
On edit: Your buddy's LB7 will read lower temps simply because of the probe location. IMO, post-turbo EGT probes are not an accurate way to monitor EGT's. EGT Gauges are used to keep the turbo within a safe temp range and the only way to know that you are still within the limits is by monitoring pre-turbo temps.

Agreed, you need to monitor the temps entering the turbo not exiting.

There efi live tunes from duramaxtuner, i shift through the gears and have no problems with the tranny but if i put it into drive the tranny slips in 5th gear, anywyas i held it there for maybe about 10 seconds the needle didn't clime any higher then 1900 i wanted to see if i could hit 2000 but turbos working fine haven't had any problems, thats why i ask is my probe messed up or in wrong spot i got it on drive side with BD manifold so i don't know what to think and racing on 1/8 mile

I would do too many more passes like that until that's looked at..

I would get with Nick to work out a tune that will bring the EGT's down. You can also verify that your probe is working properly.

thanks for the info but i have no idea what im looking at on that page. But also i don't think those tunes are design so that you can manual shift through the gears so instead of putting it in drive and a just flooring it i put the shifter in first lock out over drive and shift at about 4000 rpm and go into 2nd and so fourth the exhuast temps seem to get hotter that way then just putting it in drive, and im thinking my probe is out by about 200 F

Suggest to us what you're doing with it. Drag racing, or heavy trailer towing?
Even if the EGT is in error by 200 degrees, it is way too hot, to run longer than a 10 second quarter.
At 4000 RPM the engine is running sooo fast it can't absorb the heat from the fuel to power the pistons, and you're dumping the heat to the exhaust and the turbo. A big bang comes to mind. If that is your game, many mods are in order, tune, bigger turbo, intake air system, and head gaskets just to name a few that come to mind.

How much boost are you pulling at 4000rpm? Do you still have stock shift points in drive?
The pdf is split in two main section with 13 columns each. The left of each section is the temp in increment of 10. Find the nearest increment of ten, and then go right to get to the nearest degree.
Example: 155 degrees. Find 150 on the left of the section. Now go right 5 columns and that is the voltage for 155 degrees: 2.782 mV
