Today i was gettin ready to put in my boost guage. but I thought it was gonna be mechanic. so i drilled the hole the other day.(different post) But now I find out the thing is electric. Not a big deal. but i just installed heaths turbo master. and the directions are telling me to tap into a vac line? I have a s engine with the sensor ontop of the intake. can i tap into that line? or can i find a fitting to fit the hole i already drilled?( if not ill weld the plug in) but can anyone help me with this. I really dont want to buy a different guage. Its a cobalt "6160" just boost to 30 psi.:help2:
(seems like all I do is make things worse with this truck=2 steps forward 1 step back)

Tap into a vac line to install a TM ???? you are misreading instructions, no lines need to be tapped to install a TM it's a mechanical spring, unless you are talking about pulling the vac line off the WG actuator and plugging it with the supplied bead. Give Bill a call he will answer any questions you have on the TM install poste-haste.

sorry my bad. i just got confused. i thought the boost guage needed to be tapped into the vacume pump line. Becouse it didnt come with the 1/8npt fitting. and since i took off the vac pump i got scared. but I figured out that the guage sender map needs to be tapped into the vacume line on top of the manifold.(duh) then the sender (obvously) sends info to the guage. I think i've been smoking some stupid stuff this week. please excuse me. sorry for creating a post of nonsence. But when i get freaked out. I count on you guys to bail me out.

I think you should be able to use factory MAP signal for your electronic boost gauge. IIRC the MAP sensor voltage graphs are pretty standard.

you can get a signal off the intake air temp sensor port... get a 3/8" npt tee that is male thread on one port, and female on 2 ports [like this brass one (http://www.mcmaster.com/param/asp/PSearch2.asp?reqTyp=parametric&act=psearch&FAM=brassppf&FT_138=733&FT_1378=55730&FT_140=943&FT_101=58076&FT_1341=50592&session=desc=Pipe%20Fittings;brassppf;138=733;1378 =55730;140=943;101=58076;1341=50592&sesnextrep=500968527221960&ScreenWidth=1600&McMMainWidth=1393)] stick the temp sensor in the top port, and the boost sensor in the side port... the temp sensor will be close enough to the intake air to get a good enough reading as to the temp to work properly. i did something similar with my 6.5 when i had my tahoe..

i am not sure how the sender for that gauge works [type of fitting??] but i think it is a hose barb on the sender, so a 3/8" to like 1/4" hose barb and a length of hose between the tee and sender should do it?

My electric boost gauge came w/ a map sensor that looks exactly like the factory one. Check out my pics. I wouldn't see any reason you can't take the signal from the factory sensor.
