I noticed a very small amount of oil dripping from the left rear brake drum. I also noticed the left rear axle tube was leaking where it goes into the housing. There was also some oozing of oil from one of the plugs in the housing. The dealer replaced the L rear axle hub seal and flange gasket. They then cleaned the housing and tube. They applied epoxy to the plug and around the axle tube to stop the oozing. Does this sound right?

Yes it does. Your original axle seal leak was either from "too loose" of a wheel bearing setting or a plugged vent tube (they should have checked it). As for the tube into the pumpkin, epoxy is the first step, and if it cures the leak, everything is good. If the tube leak recurs, then it needs to redone, and then, if it still leaks, replacement of the axle assy is the best solution.

If axle seal is leaking, changing seal and flange gasket sounds good. Not so hot on the epoxy.
I would check the vent tube for kinks or clogs. The vent tube can also get a dip in it and act like a pee-trap, causing back pressure.

Thanks for the info, Is the vent tube on top?
