I also took my muffler and cat off. It sounds great to me and was alot cheaper than aftermarket set ups.

Removing the cat has excellent results, though it is illegal unless used for off-road racing applications.

I got a 4" turbo back kit with cat delete pipe and I love it. A buddy of mine is jealous of my truck especially when it starts up because its got a nice initial "whoopmff" when you first crank it over.

I have a dpf delete pipe installed - did not buy the entire exhaust system, maybe I should have. Anyway, can I get a cat delete pipe that will delete the cat and bolt to my dpf delete pipe? Thanks

Remember that you will have to have the truck smoged next year and all the smog equipment will have to installed. Just as it came from the factory. If you remove anything, be ready to install it back to pass emission tests.

Is this for sure? My muffler guy told me about this and he told me he would put it back on for me.

Yes, emission testing is coming next year. My ending VIN is a odd number, so I will not have to have it smogged until 2011. I can pull the blocker plate and connect the PVC system, PPE back to stock in a few minutes-- my exhaust is stock. Even VINs will have to be smogged next year, 2010.

I have heard of some repair places in CA getting big fines for removal of smog equipment and most muffler shops will not remove converters because of that!

So where do you find the info on all of this?

Besides the sound, is there any improvements in performance and/or mileage by deleting the cat? I am driving a bone stock 05 LLY.

Quick question is that smog testing and emissions testing for 2010 and 11 just for Cal? Cause I have an LLY and it sounds a heck of a lot better with the cat gone. The turbo whistles a little too much but gives it a deeper rumble and makes her sound good

I have to smog my truck next year....I'm going to try to slip through the smog check with a 4" pipe through the Kitty. Since in Calif, it's a visual and a smoke test, I'm betting they won't know the difference...My truck looks completely stock...They will be looking for visual items, tuners, guages, and the killer...If you have a Banks sticker they will be looking for mods...What really bothers me is that even if your truck passes the visual and a smoke test (Snap Test) you will fail if they can visually see a tuner...
