Do most of you include the spare time into your tire rotation? Actually, with my previous dually I never rotated the tires and they all looked good at 52K when I sold it. My 08 Silverado will be a long term keeper so I'll probably rotate them. How often do most of you rotate them?

If you have stock rims you can rotate and I would do it either as the owners manual says or every oil change so you can keep track of it better(that might be more frequent but if you are doing the work, it only costs you time and you may get better wear). I have alcoa's on mine and thus I have not rotated them because my inners are steel. 35k and the generals are shot. Just my .02 cents worth...

I have stock wheels and have rotated only once in about 30,000 miles. Wish I would have done it sooner and included the spare.

I have steel inners, and alcoa aluminum outers / fronts. I allign it yearly, and the fronts are ~90% of the rears. With the aluminum wheels you rotate the tires, not the tire and wheels. dismount and remounting 4 to 6 tires gets old. The spare is a spare, I check the air monthly when I check the rest, only time i have taken it down was to install the 5er rails.

That is why so many people run stock wheels and simulators like Pacific Dualies, there is no need dismount and remounting 4 to 6 tires. It gets old and you can not do it at home so it costs you money and time. Plus you never know if the guy that is installing the wheels is torquing the lug nuts correctly.

That's one reason I'm happy that I sold the 19.5's. I didn't want to have to pay for tire rotations when I can just rotate the stock wheels in my driveway.

I rotate 6 every 8,000 miles. #7 will go on the road at replacement time, so I'll just buy 5 new ones and put a worn one in position 7.

Getting mine tomorrow, so rotation isn't really a concern yet. But...what is the rotation pattern on a dually? As I read it here, stock rims can be rotated into all positions without re-mounting? Am I reading this correctly? We're getting an '09 LTZ. Photo in my garage.

Rotate all 7 every 6k miles. Tires age out too (6 years old -- toss 'em) so I want to get max tread life out of all 7.

50,000 miles (typical life of a tire) is 2 years usage at my house. Six years old is past time to trade trucks.

I've got 15k on my truck. New 02/07! :D Don't drive it near as much as you do so I have to worry about aging out tires (and I was more pointing to people who don't run their spare in the rotation).

Simplest way to do it: Every 10,000 miles, take the two rears off one side and replace with fronts. Put the two rears you just took off on the front. Next 10,000 miles, take the other two rears and put them on the front. Put the fronts you just took off on the rear. Next 10,000 miles, take the two best ones you have (probably the inside rears) and put them on the front. Put the ones you took off the front and put them wherever you took the ones now on the front from. Next 10,000 miles, buy 6 new ones and repeat the process........:D

I have stock tires now. I have about 45000 on them. Yes it is time for new one. I rotate only 6 tire. I rotate them myself about ever 1000 miles or so. Not that big of a deal to my cause I like my truck. I am going back with some 285/75-17 Toyo Open Country.
