This has happened to me a bunch of times (6/7), driving at 65-70 mph at about 2200 rpm. The engine sounds as if it's a powerstroke. It just suddenly gets really loud! When I get on it, it goes away. Then let off or stay at a constant speed, I get a knock or clatter sound from the engine. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/confused.gif It's been happening since about January about once a month or so. What I have noticed thou is that it is either raining or snowing when it happens. But how ever, when I get down to about 45-50 mph and get back up to 65-70 it's magically gone!?? What I all so noticed is that there is no smoke white/black, all gages are reading normal, there is no codes or lights, and it seems to lack in acceleration. What I think it might is a bad ground, glow plugs, or something with the pilot injection.?? I run the Juice/*** in level 1 and all injectors replaced 8/04, fuel in oil. Hope this is enough info. Any suggestions on what it might be causing this?

I noticed the same thing when I had my radio off. Turned the radio on and the sound from the radio muffled the engine sound. I think that sound was there all along and I just never noticed it because of the radio being on.

Didnt they have a problem with the juice and running the wipers causing problems with the juice and making the engine run stupid?

My version is 4.81i mfr. on 5/27/04. I would have thought that Edge would have made a change for this problem, with this version. This is the latest one right? I have no problem replacing the wipper control module for $40. What i don't under stand is that, why would replacing the stock module for another stock module fix the problem. Unless of coarse that it is an updated part #/ revision of the wipper control module. Would any 1 know the part # for it by chance?

I have no idea on any of it, but maybe after some time on the module it starts to produce more EMI?
I really dont know, I just remember reading about it and since you said it only really does it when it rains or snows, so I would imagine that it the problem. If you really want to find out, unplug the Edge next time it rains and find out.
