I just started throwing this code after installing an AEM Brute Force. Anyone else have this problem. Wasn't getting the code with the AFE Pro Guard 7. Going to go back to the AFE to see if I still get the code.

P0101 Mass Air Flow System Performance

Was it a new intake system that moved the sensor down stream or just the Air Cleaner element?

Perhaps your Mass Air Sensor is just dirty or the positioning with the "kit" moved it which is skewing the readings.Clean with a alcohol base fast drying non-lubricating Contact spray cleaner. It's available at any Home Depot in the electrical department.

It moved the sensor down stream quite a bit and that's what I figured probably starting setting the code. I cleaned it today and still got the code. I like the metal intake tube and hate to get rid of it. Don't think it should cause any problems. What is your opinion?

I haven't heard of anyone having performance issues but you have a LLY which I'm not overly involved with and if it will not effect yours as a LB7.I don't recall anyone having a LB7 performance issue. But since you haven't said it has I have to assume the pesky light will be the only problem.

Does the manufacture know?Sounds like the same problem the LB7's have running that intake system.

Put the AFE back on and haven't set a P101 code yet. I think that the MAF is too far down stream. RUNNINHORN.....did you have that problem when it was installed?

I had the same problem with my LB7. The dealer mechanic advised that my clamps werent secure and it was causing a leak in the pressurized system. He tightened them up and no problems since. Im running the MAC cold air system in mine.
