So GM already uses these for commercial opertations...Why can't we just put these into a burb? I have a buddy looking at this one for a suburban conversion on a 99 2500 4wd.
It obviously meets all the emissions requirements so what is the problem???!!!
How could there not be a market for that? Or put it in a half ton.

The current 3.9 and 5.2 do not met passenger car/ light truck emissions or NVH requirements. Larger (med and heavy duty) engines had a longer time frame to allow engineering compliance with Tier I, II, and III emissions.

What engine do you use in the Holden Colorado's? Isn't it a small Isuzu?

Its Isuzu's 3.0 litre turbo intercooled common rail 4 cly 120kw x 1.341 = 161 hp

That's sounds perfect mated with a 5-Speed. What kind of mileage does that get?
That would be nice in a mini-van as well. Nice efficiant people mover if you don't have to tow anything major.

And these are already here, so if they can figure out a light dudy diesel why can't Ford, Chevy, or Toyota figure out how to bring their light duty diesels here?

the reason is that 75-80% of americans and canadians are being sold on the idea of "gasoline hybrids"
In europe and asia diesels have held large portions of the vehicle market share for 20+ years, most buyers are uneducated, they buy whatever the automakers sell the, and the automakers are telling them to buy hybrids because they are easier to get to meet the stringent EPA standards.... basically the big three are being lazy and cheap
