hi, i just bought my first diesel i own a lawn care company and was over working my gas trucks but not ready to purchase a dump truck so i bought a 2500 2005 chevy, i live in michigan and found it in pitsburg pa so i drove there with a 1500 and put it on the trailer and drove back with it three times on the way home i would be going up those mountains or large hills and i would be lossing speed so i would acclerate and some of the time it would loose power and i was only able to go to 2000 rpm or 35 to 40 mph and i shut the truck off and restarted it then it was fine again. the dealer said it was over heating and its not really there problem. when i got to ohio it didnt do it again thats when i got new fuel and it still did it when i got home so its still there but i had my local dealer look at it and they cant find anything wrong, they want to see it when it happens again so i hooked up pne of my trailers and loaded it and no luck (kinda) it wont do it. but i asked them if it matters bc there no engine light when it does it so why would there be a code and they agreed there would probly not be a code. they did check the fuel pressure its fine the radators look fine.... i really want to know what it could be. i have a few days to get it warraited on the 30 day dealer thing. any help would be great thanks i hope to fix this and then do other things like chip and exchust hopefully thanks again

start with new fuel filter and go down to checker or auto zone ask then to check for codes, then list that and all the info on the truck and you will get some help

Fuel filter--
Turbo boots at the lower connection by the power steering--
air filter--
check the wiring at the alternator-- cut the tie strap and inspect the under side of the harness.

This is easy checks and will give you some ideas.

It would be a good idea to have a code reader-- it helps diagnose problems-- and could save your butt! -- about $100.

Good advice. I would advise that you use more punctuation, and fill in your signature!:D
