Does anyone know if they will fit a 97 dodge 3500 with the regular chrome mirrors???? I thought that they may hang kinda low because the regular mirrors look like they step up aboue 2-3 inches above the mounting place whereas the tow mirrors hang pretty much level with the mounting bracket.

The mounting base on the 03 is larger than the base on the earlier trucks. In 02 they made a flip out mirror but it wasn't powered or heated. I put a set of these on my 99, but i'm not sure if they'll fit a 97. The mirrors list for $255 through the dealer, but I found mine on e-bay quite a bit cheaper. Hope this helps.

The '03 mirror bases won't bolt onto the 2nd gen bodied trucks, but some folks have swapped the '03 towing mirror head onto the '02 and earlier bases.

I have seen them on a 2001 body style and they looked much better than the chrome ones. You will have to sacrifice power heated unless you can figure out a way to retrofit the new mirrors to an old base? Good luck. If you get them and do any wide towing you will love the flip out towing mirrors.
