I have a 1994 G20 with the PMD electronic ip and in the van it has a mechanical lift pump!! When I turn the ignition key to the ON position and hear what sounds like two short clicks from the new napa Glow Plug Controller Watching my Glow Plug Light, I observe a short flicker for a fraction of a second. Then some times it has multi series of clicks no glow plug light!
If I leave the key in the ON position, the Glow Plug Light remains dark and the Glow Plug Controller does NOT cycle on and off.
If I wait a minute and try again some times it will turn on one normal 8 second time and I can get it to start! No repeat cycles glow plug light remains dark.
Is this the failure mode of a faulty Glow Plug Controller, temp sensor, computer, ground or something else? I think it might be the temp sensor but it could be the the other possabilities!:D

Does it only come on real quick right after installing the glow plug controller and not any other time? Every time you disconnect the batteries you will get a no glow symptom but after a second time or after starting it, shutting off and restarting you will have normal glow time. Make sure you connected everything just like you took it off...
Also, no need for the different font styles and colors... just annoying to read.

That is the way it suppose to do unless your ambient temp is colder. In the summer, it should cycle very short.

It been started and stopped severl times and it still does the same thing! It needs the extra glow to start in my case! It's a 1994 G20 with the PMD electronic ip and in the van it has a mechanical lift pump!!

After the battery is disconnected. I am assuming you disconnect the battery. There is also a fluke chance that the controller is defective. How old is the GP?
There is a mod to extend the glow time, it should be in the FAQ.

The glow plug controller is new and recently installed but it could be bad I thought about that too!! Should I try unhooking the batteries to clear everything? I will check to see how to increase glow time in FAQ.
