Had my brand new 09 line-xed 4 months ago. I just noticed theres rust spots forming on bottom of the bed on top of the line-x, especially in small crevices. I can brush most of it off with a hard bristle brush and some soap but cant get in the crevices. Is this normal?... I can get pictures if necessary.

i would take it back to your linex dealer, it sounds like it was prepped wrong

I replied to the question in another thread, but I'll repeat it here:

LINE-X itself is not capable of rusting.

Go to Wallymart, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. and get some CLR and clean the bedliner with that. If it's really rust, CLR will clean it off.

Somehow you got metal particles in the bed of your truck after the linex was sprayed and now it is rusting. It is the same with white trucks you will see little orange dots all over the truck (rust) but it is just from fall out (metal particles, brake dust) that lands on the top of the paint and then starts to rust. On paint you can get it off with a clay bar on a linex I'm guessint you will just have to scrub to get it all out of the cracks.

Thanks! That's what I thought, this line-x dealer does a ton of trucks so I don't see any reason why it would be prepped wrong. I just couldnt figure out how it was getting rust on it but not rusting itself.
