Im Working On A Buddies 84 Chevy 6.2 He Said It Needed A Ip It Was Hard To Start Always Needed A Shot Of Wd-40 To Get Started Then If It Sat More Than A Half Hour Would Not Start Without Help Ive Been Thru The Whole Fuel System New Ip Electric Lift Pump New Filter And Housing And All New Fuel Lines From Tank To Engine Still Made No Differnce. Has All New Glow Plugs And They All Work. When U Crank On It It Smokes But No Go Im Starting To Lean Towards Maybe A Compression Problem. Any Ideas? Has 312k

yea id check the compression. my 6.2 truck needs a few seconds of glowplugs after its sat for a hour or 2. so i wired up a manual glow plug override switch that lets me have auto glows when its cold and then glow it when it want some more.

whats the normal compression suppose to be? ill get a gauge tuesday.

around the 400 psi mark

yea X2 on the compression test, and like diaric said, around the 400psi mark

yup i think its dead i have 2 cylinders that are under 250psi guess i got a winter project
