I installed Cognito HD tie rods about a year ago. Well i just noticed this and they are hitting on my sway bar and tore both of the inner boots. Has anyone put longer spacers on the sway arm to give it the clearance it needs? Are there any negative side affects adding about an 1" to the sway arm bolt and spacer?

We have recommended taller sway bar end links for stock or leveled truck for this reason, so yes you are heading the right direction. Sorry to here about the contact. We offer the longer links here > http://www.norcaltruck.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=2_383&products_id=1043
And here is where we recommend the longer links at time of your purchase of the HD tie rods > http://www.norcaltruck.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=2_385&products_id=978
Hope this helps.
Thanks nick. I actually purchased the cognito tie rods and braces from you, but at the time you were still working on a solution for the sway bar.... Crappy part is I might have 5000 miles on the pickup since I installed them and the left inner is loose already. Can i buy just the inner tie rod?
How much taller is your sway bar links over stock? I measured last night and 1" extra would be nice. Do they affect anything else when adding them?
It is actually a long story but I had the straight center link with tie rod sleeves. I installed the cognito braces, and HD tie rods but with the straight center link they hit the sway bar. So I put the stock center link back in with the cognito tie rods, and cognito braces still installed. Even with the braces I still get bad toe in under power which is bothering me. Plus I noticed last night the tie rods still hit the sway bar. So now i am thinking I will put the straight center link back in (to fix toe in problems), put new stock tie rods on with the sleeves I have, and taller sway bar links and hopefully will have clearance and get rid of all my problems. I would prefer the HD tie rods as i would think they would last longer, but don't know if they will clear the sway bar even with taller sway bar links on the straight center link. Also I'm very disappointed by how quickly the cognito tie rods wore out and are loose now.... My stock tie rods with sleeves lasted 10 times longer.

If you are seeing the tow in I am guessing you are cranked up on large tires? You shouldn't be getting the front end towing in like that if you where setting level on your CV and steering angles.
New end links are 1" taller.
I have replacement inners or otter's and we have replacement boots. Just really haven't put them all up on the site because we are not seeing many wearing out yet. Couple cases here and there but to date I have had less than 20 individual tie rods wear out. That's a pretty damn good percentage vs. how many we have sold. Last time I looked we where around 600 sets sense the release of these HD tie rods. Let me know what you would like to do and I can get you fixed up with what you need.
