Does any one out there have 5% tints all around their truck. If so, have you ahd any problems with them. I have have 15% currently on my 4500 and QX 56 and I am going to get 5% put on tomorrow. How do you all like it?

i live in calif and have driven with 5% tint in the front for 20 yrs. no prob with copers (pulled over in the young days in my hot rod) but depends if the vehicle looks like a rebel is driving it would increase the chances of red lights. the only prob i've had with a few vehicles is the window roller wears (verticle line) the tint after a long time. i've never had to replace it as it's barely noticeable. no probs on my current trucks. get a good tint like 3M. also, my other windows (rear) came tinted from factory

I have "Limo Tint" on the rear doors of my truck. I think it looks good from the outside, and during the day it's fine, but at night if you're in the back seat it feels like you're in a cave.

If I do it again, I probably wouldn't go as dark.

I also live in Calif and have had more fix it tickets for windows/mudflaps/flares than I care to remember. I'm a bad example to listen to though, my friend owns a tint shop so I get taken care of pretty good. I currently have 3 vehicles that are tinted as such. Duramax,Yukon,Corvette 1 layer of 5% over the factory, all of the back windows 35% on driver/passenger and 35% down the windshields. BTW all of the vehicles are black. I would like to put 5% back on all of the side windows but I don't like peeling tint PITA. So far I've been ok with the windows the way they are now. 5% ia the way to go IMO but can also be a hassle depending on where you live.

I can't wait to get it done and see how it looks. I don't think that I'll have any problems, just like the 15%'s it may take a while to get adjusted to it for night driving, I think it'll be fine.

I just picked up my '05 CC monday and had the tint shop next to me do it, they put 35% on as I asked and he tried to convince me first to put on 20% to match the rear. I did not listen...............................I should have *#^%( ^$*$!!!!!!!!! It looks good but in not even close to matching the rears, I was worried about legal issues in my state where 35% is max legal, should have said F it and done the 20%.

5% all around, no trouble yet. I do ride around with my drivers side window down quite often. 5% in front and over all factory tint. IT IS DARK. Just the way I like it.

Thanks Guys!! I dropped it off this morning and I get to pick it up at 3:00 pm. I'm like you, in my Infiniti I ride alot with the windows down, the tint guy also asked me if I wanted to put 35% on the Windsheild, I saw a Ram that he was doing it to yesterday and It looked neat, but I think that is just a little too extreme.

I just got it back and it looks fantastic, I dont have to wear sunglasses with the sun shining as bright as can be. I can't wait to drive it at night and see how it is. So far, so good!!

I thought the windshield was illegal to tint??

It is , so is speeding. Everything I own has tint on the windshield. I had a 1500 that was a real head turner and popo attracter. I had the windshield tinted on that truck for 6 years without ever getting a ticket on it. I had approx 15-20 tickets on the side windows but they never said anything about the windshield.

I have 5% all the way around and a 10" "sun" strip on the front. Love it and every car I have ever owned or will ever own, will also get the same treatment. Only one I had trouble with the cops with was my navy blue olds delta 88 in high school--you know why.
