Anybody ever replace optical sensor on DS4 pump ?
I am going to try to replace sensor to fix P0251 code.
Anybody know the proper torque for the bolts holding the top plate down ?
# on pump DS4831-5942

After new sensor is in and all air is purged and hopefully running will it need to be timed ? Have access to tech2.
thanks,
tom

I have a used sensor you can have reasonably priced. It came out of a working pump.

I replaced the OS in my pump, 97 vin F. Opened it up, kept it clean, marked where the old one was, dropped the new one in, tightened hard by hand, and put it back together. I did not tighten to any specifications. Works great now, but beware of a failing pump soon afterwards, I believe it's safe to say that mine is on it's dying leg about 6 months after the replacement.

Update. Ted thanks for the offer, but it looks like self destruct.
The wheel with the slots in it for timing was rubbing against the sensor and ended up tearing so now instead of a slot there is a gapping tear.
Looks like time for new pump again. This one only had about 27,000 miles on it.
