I am about to purchase a 2005 5500 with a 6600 Duramax. It will be a 4x4 and have the 1000 Automatic tranny. The rear end gears are the 5.13 configuration.
My question is can I overide the 75 MPH limit safely and with what manufactured device. I plan to pull my fifth wheel and do some light hauling with my goose neck but nothing too serious. I had read that at times, the factory tires and the rear end gear configuration will not allow this upgrade and the factory tires need to be changed out. Is this configuration going to limit my upgrade potential?
Basically I am wanting to know if I can make a few upgrades in performance if I want and still be safe when it comes to the engine and transmission and rear end.
