I took my turbo off last night so I could drill and tap a hole in the exhaust manafold for a pyro guage. By the way I have heard that this could be done with the engine running and the turbo still in place. I am glad that I took off the turbo though because for one the amount of chips I caught inside the exhaust and for two how easy it made it to tap. On to my question. When I took off the turbo I noticed some standing oil inside the rubber connector from the turbo to the intake. I know it could not be caused by my CDR blow by because I have it disconnected from the turbo intake. The fins on the turbo are clean and the turbo spins freely. So I was wondering if the turbo could be leaking from inside?
How would you know if it was and how would you test it? Thanks

How long has your CDR been disconnected, if you didn't clean out the intake tube after dissconnecting you could still have residual from before.

Oil in the intake is normal. Put an IC on an it will flow a certain amount of oil through it too. It's easy to spot intake leaks, the oil stain will give it away. You can pretty much tell how bad the leak is by the amont of oil and the spray pattern.
