I SEEM TO HAVE NOISEY PULLY(S)CHIRPING SOUND, EVER HERE OF THIS ON A NEW TRUCK?

If your talking about the shut down chirp ... It's just the belt "chirping" when the high compression engine comes to a screatching halt and the belt slips a bit..


They all do it ....

sounds like a belt to me....see quite a bit of that.

I had the same problem. Took it to the dealer and he replaced the belt. Problem fixed.

Same problem, put a new belt on, carry the old one as a spare.

Same problem, look up - Cold Start Belt Squeak. Mine turned out to be the water pump at 12,000 miles.

My truck does the same thing, maybe i should go have a new one put on.

I put belt dressing on, unfortunatly while running, (i had a mental block)and did not seem to matter, although today seemed to lessen.

I have used Permatex spray belt dressing since 89. It has been 100% effective. It makes the belt tacky but will not collect dirt. Try it before buying a new belt. Later! Frank
