I would like to use the high idle option, but it was not factory installed. I want to keep the engine speed up while parked with the AC running in 114 degree weather while delivering parts.

Can this be added on at the dealer or otherwise at all? If so how?

No, I am not asking about “cold weather” high idle.

It is mostly programming as far as I know and has to be done by the dealer with a Tech II. Just know it is not an option for 2007.5 LMMs.

Short answer: no...

GM TAC has stated it will not release a software update to enable this feature. Been multiple threads posted about it - some claim the dealer can do it, but no one has ever offered proof that it can be.

My neighbor has been chasing this since last year. He gave up after spending way too much time on the phone with GM to try to get it done.

Did not know it was that difficult thing to have added after truck is built. GM does do some dumb things that are so simply.

Probably because the high idle switch is listed as a $200.00 option is why GM won't let you upgrade it later down the road. They might lose some money if you can talk a tech into doing it for free or slip him a sawbuck for his troubles.

I don't think it's possible.
