Hey!

Completly new to this Board, And I dont even own a Diesel Truck.. :)

What I have is a 1991 Chevrolet 3500 454 Dually, and sience this is the only board I have found that fdiscusses these lovey trucks, i will post my question here:

I am looking for a new set of rear wheels. I now have american racing 16" cromed wheels in the fron and rear with 2x 225/50/16" Tires.
What I want is to replace my dually setup with a single fat tire, somewhere around 400mm wide..

Does anyone know where to this a rim this big? Can I have 15" in the rear or do I have to get 16 or 17" ? What offset do i need to make it fit?

Tanks all in advance, I will give you all some pics of the truck also, thats always appreciated ;)

Nice truck, although the chain steering wheel doesn't work for me.

Do a search for Super Singles and see if that helps. I don't know if that is what you are looking for though. They make these tires for big rigs and you might be able to make it work for your dually. I don't know if you can do it with a lowered one though.

Are you trying for the Pro-Street look? If that is the case go to Summit Racing or Jegs High Performance. They sell super wide rims for drag racing. Your problem though would be getting rims with 8 lugs. Most drag racing rims are 5 lugs...I suppose you can get your axles re-drilled if you really wanted.

Sweden, with a 454? Your fuel bill must be astronomical.

My Fuelbills are pretty high yes... This is my Daily Driver and for the weekends I Drive my ´66 Lincoln Continental.. :D

I´m looking for the Prostock style yes,, very wide tires with a low profile. Does a 15" tall wheel fit on this truck? Or do I have to get 16 or bigger?
Wide 16" Tires are impossible, 15 & 17" Are pretty easy to find.
And do You know about the backspace...? I guess that the rear axle is wider on theese trucks than the 1500:s?

That was the look here in sothern california back in the early 90's search Centerline wheels or Craiger for a 15" or 16" x 17" wide wheels. Then the tire if I can remember right were some sort of drag style tire that had street threads on it and was DOT rated. Maybe a Micky Thompson? Most of the guys that did it wanted the pro-stock or funny-car look. I must add, when those tires blow...... they really blow. Most of the time you will need to replace the fenders. That rubber just flies everywhere. Saw one dually hit the guard rail on the freeway when he blew a rear tire. just my $.02
