ON THE TRUCK: at the plug under the bumper, if I turn on the right signal, both the left and the right sides blink (like hazards should do.) Left turn signal works correctly. Brakes only are on the right side. All lights function correctly on the truck. I have a plug in the bed and it behaves the same.

I'm not sure where to begin to look excep that I checked every fuse I could think of under the hood and they seem fine. There weren't any I could Identify as left turn or right turn or brakes. Is there anywhere else I can check?

I will schedule into the dealer first thing wednesday morning but if I can find a good answer first, it would be great. I don't trust they will know how to troubleshoot.

Make sure you have a good ground. All sorts of funny things happen without.

Should I just check continuity between ground on plug and frame? I'm pretty sure ground is good because everything else seems solid. Trailer brakes are consistent etc.

I read through the other trailer wiring thread and it sounds similar. I checked all those fuses so I'm thinking it is likely the turn signal module. My warranty is gone after a year and change (46,000 mi) we'll see what I can get out of the dealer.

ARGHHHHH I took it to the dealer and everything worked fine. Either the playing around with the wiring I did last night jostled something right or something. Only other thing I did was go to factory tune on the Predator before I went to the dealer. Guess I"ll go home and hook to the trailer this afternoon and see if things work now. The tech was nice and said he would look at it with the trailer no charge if it doesn't work today.

I took both the truck and trailer in this morning and they were able to repro. Turns out it is the Hazard signal module. Will be $180 to replace. At least they fixed it but what a bummer to have to pay for sh1t like that on a 2004 truck. (47K miles)

Incredible!!! $180 module to do what they used to do with simple switch closures and wire. I am EE (well seasoned) and I'd like to get my hands on some of these young whipper snappers with their brand new BSEE degrees.

gwmayes,

When we were ...doing with simple switches and wire we were paying 6 - 8 K for a New Pickup.

Each generation must re-invent the wheel.

God damned electrical people; I just don't get that stuff. It is much easier to handle such things in software ;) (BSCS)

I'm getting down to the wire as we leave for Tulsa leaving from Boise.... no wait, Kuna.... on Saturday so I gotta have this working. And, we have to move into our new house in Kuna Friday.

Anyone know how hard it is to replace this module and how much they cost? Can they be found somewhere besides the dealer?

Rock,

off subject slightly but what are you doing in Tulsa? Horse show? What type of show.
