I search under Holset hx-35 on search engines...almost every link has something about hx-35w/40 Hybrid turbos and it wont leave my thoughts...so I'm digging into some new ground.

hmm.....does this mean a Hx-40 compressor housing fits onto the turbo center cartridge of the hx-35w? any machining involved, bigger comp wheel needed? What are the advantages? any 5.9L Cummins guys in here with experience on this matter?

Any input about the concept is welcome here.

It's either a HX40 with the 35's turbine section or a HX35 with a 40's compressor section.

Basically big flow on the compressor side, and quick spool on the turbine side.

A wastegate is a must though, because the turbine side can't keep up with the flow the compressor side can.

Just don't go blowing things up, that's a mighty big compressor :p:
