Juice? How about an update on how that cooler Banks sent you is working out? Any observations that you can talk about?

Sorry guys, we're still being asked not to share pics yet. I've got them on the computer but I just can't figure out how to upload them yet :)

I believe they are close with the LLY kits and once they're ready to sale they're supposed to give us permission to post pics. As soon as I'm given the ok I promise the pics will be posted.

The cooler is working out just fine.
Waiting for one more gauge to arrive to finish testing.
BANKS still gets the hard #'s first (as per our 'handshake' agreement)
:o:

Once all the numbers are in, and Peter has had a chance to look at what we find, I will do a submittal for the readership here without bias.

Since there has been no 'claim' on the CAC's efficiency or benefit on BANKS's site I can assure you they are as interested in the results as we are. I would like to thank everyone for their patience; But as with all testing, I want the results repeatable. With the onset of some warmer weather, test conditions are now better to gauge the efficiency of the CAC's thermal rejection/transfer.

Thank You for your patience

Twins Pics have to wait until IdahoCTD gives us the green light to release them.
The easiest way to get a visual is to order up a set:grd:

WARNING: Sleeping under the hood might get you in trouble with your significant other.... while it was an acceptable thing to do for the first week you owned the truck.... I am pretty sure they would not go for this one!

I can live without pics,I just want some feedback. How are they working, any mods to make them work even better? Just looking for a little more info before I order.

Twins on the LB7 are functioning well. I have had zero problems with them. EGT's are no longer a concern even trailering with the boxes set to KILL! IdahoCTD and DTT are working on the piping... What I am running is prototype, and while it functions very well, Nathan wants to make some small changes. Piping seems to take the longest to get done correctly that seems to be the current holdup (Nathan can correct me if i am wrong here!)

One thing is certain. You MUST have a good trans and convertor with the twins. The torque is tremendous .... my current stock convertor i CAN SLIP IN LOCKUP! the single stock charger was incapable of doing that on fuel to the mid 400 range, but with the twins I can 'shudder' the TC with the edge set on 3LBF 5PL :(

Stacking only exacerbates the problem. I will be getting a convertor back into the truck in the next little while along with a new flexplate.

The twins cleanup all the fuel that a stock CP3 Pump can provide at a very reasonable 46 PSIG of boost. At 50 PSI there is nothing visible.
Spool of Big Momma is a non issue... the stock charger only works until 9 PSI and then it is all bottom charger. I can only 'smoke' from a dead stop, or while in 5th gear with the lockup switch on at 40 mph rolling on the throttle.
The best part is that with the EGT reduction, I never change my power level. Allison never has to 'relearn' which might actually reduce wear and tear on the clutches.

That's really all i know at present. My current plans is to hit another Dyno, but that will need to wait until the TC is done, and i can get away from the office for a few days. I will try to hit a couple Dyno's, Both load and inertia types.

Juice, How was the install of the Banks CAC? Did it just slide into the space where the OEM CAC is, any fabrication issues?

I had some minor adjustments to do because my 'plumbing' is slightly different than stock.

On a stock truck this would be a non issue. Banks sends new CAC tubing, High quality silicone boots, spring clamps and an instruction manual that is very well detailed.

Someone can install this at an easy pace in the space of about 2 hours. If someone has done it before, probably an hour.

All it takes is time and patience. One thing i will add, is that you should not tighten any fasteners to the CAC until the fit is correct and not 'binding' any where. You do not want the pipes or hoses under any unecessary tension.

as far as fit, and instructions go, very well done!

The Juicegrips(TM) can stay in the toolbox!:D
