I'll be happy to start this forum off with a couple question for everyone and a picture of our toys!

1. What kind of RV do you have? TT, 5vr, Motorhome (class A, Etc.)
2. What do you generally use it for? Off-Road camping, General camping, Horses, Boating, you get the idea.
3. Would you want something different? Motorhome instead of TT, Etc.
4. Would you change something on what you have and call it perfect? AXLE LOCATION AND WEIGHT! (guess what my gripe is ):h ).
5. What problems have you had with it? Electrical, tires, etc.
6. Where do like to go? Mountains, desert, coastline, etc.

There's a couple to get you started. Feel free to add more!

Ours is 5vr (see below) and is generally used for Off-Road dry camping. Wouldn't have anything else! No major problems to date. Enjoy going to Ocotillo Wells, Johnson Valley and Dove Springs (Jawbone). All are Desert areas. Doing a trip up to Northern CA this July to visit family. EVERY year we do a Thanksgiving trip and Cook the turkeys in the ground!:)

Enjoy and happy Camping!

PS. invitation is always open for anyone to join us on any trips we do!

Nice toys TT!!!

We go to the dunes for a week for TDay. Always deep fry our birds.

I have a Weekend Warrior 30' tow trailer toy box. Had it for a few months now. No probs other than some jackass running into it after his quad ghost rode into the side from over 200 yards away http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif

We mostly go to the dunes (glamis north and south end) and camp in different area's there depending on what weekend it is.

Also have a modified 250R with not much left on it that is stock.

Got the wife a golf cart (which is now forsale-$7800 OBO!) and we have a blast on it.

We really want to upgrade to a logn travel sand car but the budget won't allow i for now.

I pull a 36' Raptor 5th wheel toyhauler loaded with 2 full size quads and 2 small kids quads. Dry camping in the desert during the winter months and then head to the mountains in the summer. We spend Thanksgiving week in the desert with a local ATV riding group. Somewhere different every year.

This is our 3rd RV but it's our 1st toyhauler and just got it in December. Only problem so far is the bedroom slide needs adjustment but I haven't taken it back in yet. Sure is nice taking only one vehicle camping!

Boy guys, I feel like we are missing an axle here. We just bought this rig and can't wait to get out. We do a lot of weekend warrior camping where we fish and enjoy other water sports. Have an older motor home as well which is for sale cheap. We will be pulling a 16 foot boat behind and if the way the truck pulls the trailer is any indication it shouldn't be a problem.

Not much activity here, is there? I don't have much to add. Just sold my Sunnybrook TT a couple of months ago and haven't committed to a fiver yet. As for the SB, absolutely no problems in the 7 years we had it. Looking to upgrade to a nice fiver (the reason I bought the dually a couple of years ago) like the new Heartland. We were considering a Mobile Suites because it was built by SBrook, but heard that the line had been sold. We really like the Heartlands--very innovative and a little cheaper/. I've looked at a couple and very impressed with them. Just finishing my log home so most likely will wait till fall and the 06's. Fall is beautiful here in the Smokies.

Hi all. I have a small TT compared to you guys. 25 ft. Trail-Lite. Pulling it with the 3500 CC Dually w/Duramax 6spd. I know, a little overkill, but we plan on a 5vr in the next couple of years, that is why I got the truck. I traded an 03 2500HD EC SB 6.0 Auto. in on the above truck. Pulled the camper great, but like I said, we will probably move to a bigger 5vr hopefully. We live in upper east TN, so I camp in the smokies. Went to Myrtle Beach a couple of years ago. Been to Bowling Green, KY to visit relatives. Went to the Corvette plant (AWESOME)! Got a small state park campground only about 20 miles from me in Virginia where I work and was raised. It is called Natural Tunnel State Park. It is cool, a natural tunnel carved by a creek which runs through it, big enough for a railroad to go through. If anyone would like to see the link is www.naturaltunnel.info (http://www.naturaltunnel.info) . We usually go there about 5 times a summer. Going to St. Augustine, FL in July.

We pull a 1999 Travel Supreme 33RKSS (34 foot, rear kitchen, super slide). Picked it up used in 2002. We have pulled it from Maine to Montana and Georgia to Texas. We use it as a base camp to do site seeing and then on to the next location. WE never stay long in one location. Have to cram as much as we can in to that 2 week vacation. The trailer is about 12,000 pounds dry and 14,000 pounds fully loaded. It pulls great. The only problems have been water leaks and slide seal gaskets. The gaskets on both slides have been replaced. the new seals are better designed and should lase much longer. I had a leak in the roof that neither I or the dealer could find. I had to take it back to the factory to have some cabinetry replaced and the leak stopped. They traced the leak back from the inside to find it (bubble under the mastic roof seal). I did have to replace one tire that developed a bulge in the side wall after driving over a 6" tree stump in the dark. Last year was the gulf coast from Georgia to Texas. I think this year we will head back to the northeast. I want to do Alaska and the southwest but can't fit that in to two weeks.

I have a CL4005 40' Weekend Warrior 5'er and pull it with a c4500 4x4.http://jan.ucc.nau.edu/~mr/4500/DVC00213.JPG
In the winter months we go to the Imperial Sand dunes by Yuma, AZ (Olgalby and Gordan's Well). We also go to Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco, Mexico) a couple of times a year during the winter months. It is really nice to get out of the snow (250"+ this year) and go where it is 65 degrees in the day. In the summer months, we typically stay in the mountains of Arizona. This weekend we will be going to the eastern side of the state up to about 10,000 ft. elevation.

We take one long road trip each summer, this summer up the CA coast ending up on the San Juan Islands in WA then ??Glacier National Park?? See how much time we have.

We have a few toys....two 660 rapters, an 80 raptor and a Polaris 6x6 magnum and mountain bikes.

Problems, only with my 01 ford. Every trip I would have to open the tool box. No problems with the new truck. Every once in a while the shear pin shears on the slide out? Not a big deal however.

Not a problem, more an issue is weight. When fully loaded I have exceeded 26K. The 5'er is pretty heavy. Most of the time I keep it around 18K.

What a differance 34 years make.

'71 (I think) 24' Prowler to a '05 23' (actually it 27') 230RB Wanderer.
Believe it or not everything works on the old one, it just looks like H@ll. And it does have an awning, it's folds up and is stored with the poles.

Since we live on the coast most of our trips are to inland lakes. Planning a 2 week trip in August up the Oregon Coast, across to McCall ID, then back.

We have a 2004 Arctic Fox 30U TT. Very well built and we’ve had no trouble with it. Most of our camping is in developed sites, though we dry camp occasionally. For now I don’t want anything else. We chose this trailer after lots of looking and examining hundreds of TTs and 5ers. This unit met our wants and needs the best and after many thousands of miles of use has not disappointed us in the least.

I have a 2005 Fleetwood Gearbox 295FS Toyhauler, just got it a few weeks ago, and I love it. Most of our camping is offroad, since that is the best place for ATVs. I have only had it for about 6 weeks, and no problems so far.

Well, I'm pullin a Cedar Creek Silverback 29LRLBS,about 10,100 lbs. empty, maybe 11,000 loaded for the road. Just came back from Branson and I am real happy with the way it pulls, traded in a 02 2500 8.1/alli which pulled it fine also, but holdin' it's head every time we passed a gas station got a bit outa' hand so moved up to the Dmax.
Usually go up to northeast GA /NC area in the Smokies, had been doin' it in a 22ft HiLO tt, moved up to the 5'er and haven't looked back, really luv it.Retiring on 07 and going to hit the road for a while to get out of this zoo called Tampa Bay area.
