been forever since i posted anything got back into the shop and been working on our suburban . bought it at least 3 years ago non running. found a 85 three quarter ton with a crate 6.5 pickup. bought it for a grand and swapping everything into the suburban. at the moment have both engines pulled. going to regasket the 6.5 has a few oil drips which i hate. motor only show 30k on it by the paper work and it runs like a top. it was a company rig that no one would drive so it did alot of sitting . so i will part out the pickup and have a reliable suburban. anyway not as fast wrenching as i used to be but it will get done. i will post some photos when i get it running. the suburban is a factory three quarter ton with a turbo 400 and a good friend informs me he has and od just sitting under the bench with my name on it to bolt to the transfer case .

going to change the inj lines to the 6.5 because the 6.2 ones are rubbing alot on intake manifold bolts. last crate engine i put in i bought the right ones and it worked great. rear one peice main seal slowly leaking will change that also a slow leak on the drivers side valve cover. the oil cooler line fittings were loose in the block there is some more seeping oil. water pump and fuel transfer pump getting changed. notice something not lining up on the pulleys found 84 pulleys on crank and waterpump and 85 pulley on the power steering pump. had another 84 powersteering pump from dead motor. going to change front seal while i am at it . after seeing so many small things going over this with a fine toothed comb. also found wrong nuts on exhaust manifold to pipe flange bolts . not all brackets on the power steer pump. always like to keep things right as i can. i might look at the cdr for back pressure issues being all the seeping of oil.
