Today, I was going to purchase a F-350 with a 6.0 L Diesel. But, first I called the local Diesel mechanic to get his opinion of my purchase and was advised not to purchase it. He said Ford was stopping production of the 6.0 L. He went on to tell me of various problems too. I then called a Service Mgr at Ford and he said the 6.0 L was going to be replaced. Does anyone have any info on this as to fact, timing, etc.? Thanks

I think it will be replaced with a 6.4L. If you do a search on the new 6.4L powerstroke, you may be able to find out somethings about it.

If you can hold off on your purchase I would. But then again, i hate to buy a first run year. My 6.0 has been nothing but problems from day one. Currently in arbitration and seriously looking into another make of diesel.

I have not had any problems with my 6.0 and i now have 43000KM on it. Yes ford is going to stop making the 6L and they are going to replace it with a 6.5L twin turbo.

My son, however, has an '05 F250 and has blown the L/side hose off the turbo twice and the R/side once (just last week). He is real upset about it, to say the least.

Engine keeps stalling, surging, no power
Transmission, slips, shakes very bad when towing, and some times will not shift at all and when it does, look out.
Actually died in the service bay two different times...real fun in traffic or while trying to pull a load.
Should have kept me 7.3...the guy will not sell it back to me.
