For those out there that straight piped your truck by simply cutting out the stock muffler and replacing it with a pipe how did you do it? The inlet and outlet are offset how did you get around this?

I did it quick and dirty with a piece of flex pipe and a couple seal clamps. I wasn't sure how the sound was going to be and didn't want to do anything too permanent. I figure sooner or later I am going to go to a 4" system anyway, so it is sort of middle ground to get the wife used to the extra noise.

I have a friend...more like the retarded kind who did the same thing (he is retarded for many other reasons!) I gotta tell ya...it is LOUD to the observer...almost obnoxiously so. I will be waiting for the $$$ for MBRP cool Duals.

I had a local muffler shop do mine. i expected him the bend a piece to match....but he just coped a straight piece in.:( guess it works.
I too will be changing to the duals in the future.:ro)

If you stay out of the pedal it sounds good. but at high boost it is loud. fun at times but i'm scared of damaging someone ears....

I think I could knock down a cyclist if i tried.

maybe sometime i will get a sound clip.

I've heard blnagel's pickup (check his sig). It only seems a little louder than mine... stone stock. But then, I like quiet. If it's too loud... yeah, I know... I'm too damn old.
