I was just wondering what else will I have to do when I change the U Joints on my truck? Do I have to get it rebalanced? or do I just mark the driveshaft and the TCase where the slipyoke fits onto the propshaft and reinstall by aligning the marks? Sorry if this is a rookie question , I've never changed one before and only want to do the job and spend the money once. Also what will I get when I buy the UJoints (Slipyoke and T/Cross)?

i always try to put em back in the way they came out, personal preference, probably won't matter but if the truck was smooth before, it should be when it goes back together

Havent looked at the back of the shaft is it the same to change both ends? I'm out of town workin so cant go out to see. Figured I should change both of them now just to save a hassle and possibly more expenses later.

what is wrong with the u joint that you are changing it in the first place? is it squealing when you accelerate from a stop? the other one is probably not too far behind, change them both and get good ones!

In general , no not that I'm aware of. I have a one piece shaft. The only reason a U-joint qould ever brake (unless its well aged) is due to the way one drives. I never thought an Allison could brake a U-Joint she's way too smooth.
