One part showed up today ! But some dumbass forgot to put the correct adapter in the box. Monday I will rush down to Billings to pick out the other part. Should be complete by Wednesday. This is going to work out great. There is plenty of room for a large filter.

Wrong parts showed up today. Sorry this post is not helpful to this thread. I am guessing a person of any race, color, creed, could have screwed up my order. I would list all the groups individually but that is too much typing. Hopefully this is politically correct enough for all the members of this site which if it was not for you this great free website would not be possible. Thank you for everything and God bless all of you.

I like the size of the tubing but to me, your negating any gain by sucking in hot air.

ShopSpecialties
11-07-2009, 05:51 PM
Actually I am NOT sucking in hot air. On average I am 2-3 degrees within AAT. I put on about 8,000 miles last month and during that time I watched temps and had excellent results. If it was sucking hot air I would have stopped using it and came up with something different.

Good to know. :D

What else have you noticed for gains?

ShopSpecialties
11-07-2009, 06:27 PM
More turbo noise, mileage seems to be holding steady, better throttle response, the real gains are going to be with my big tunes. I was starving for air before with the stock box. Hopefully one of these days I will get a chance to play around.

Lately it has been 50-60 degrees out with some days in the 70. I am busy right now but the big hit will come when everybody waits until it hits zero out then they all call at once.

Waste oil heater sales and service. We are the Clean Burn distributor for the state of Montana and basically the only business in the state doing it.
I need to make the MAF mount better for quality and easier for you guys to install. The AEM dry filter is just the basic 21-2259DK filter. It works but I like to do my work to a higher standard of quality.

Right on, I grew up in Western MT, Clinton and Missoula. I miss it more than you can imagine, just can't find anything aviation wise that would allow me to get back that way. On the intake, I'm qwerky like that as well, everything has got to be perfect. Well thanks a lot man and take it easy.

Well I decided to clean the filter today for the first time. It was not bad for 25,000 miles. Everything is doing very well. The intake tract had no dirt. So far zero issues and I like the dry AEM.

okay, what is going on here? Bump for me? I would like one of these filter setups. How do I get one. What will it cost me? I just feel horrible about the first aftermarket filter I used.

That bump was for when you asked about it over a year ago and wanted to see pictures. I am still running the original set up and have not made it better to sell to anyone. I have have enough headaches in my life and do not need another one.

I do have about 70,000 miles on it with zero problems.

Wouln't a K&N filter work that could be put on the opening? Just cut the stock filter housing off after the MAS air flow sensor.

IIRC there was not enough material and it would probably collapse when you tightened the clamp. Seemed like there was another issue also.
