Howdy.

Wanted to know if everyone with failing injectors is still being charged the $100 deductible even though the injectors are such a widespread problem. I thought GM would waive the $100 deductible; however, after voicing my dissatisfaction about the $100 deductible to two representatives at GM customer service and the dealer, I was still charged the $100. Anybody know the right person to speak with at GM to voice my opinion. OR do you all think the $100 deductible is fair even though the problem with the injectors is such a widespread problem?

Thanks in advance for the information,

T

i think 100.00 is fair, they covered them to 200,000 miles on the 01-02 which to me is above and beyond. definately rather pay 100.00 than i would 5,000.00 which i think is about what they charge for all 8.

Maybe if they went out at 36,500 miles $100 would be too much. At 72,000, though, I don't think it is too bad.

That sucks. They didn't charge me the deductable at 60k miles.

I got hit with the $100 when I had my water pump replaced. I was at 42000 or so and just over 2 years of ownership. I think it sucks to have to pay for repairs on a "new" vehicle, but as stated earlier, I'd rather pay the $100 for any engine repair I may need then the going price. These aren't the easiest motors to work on for us shadetree guys and the $100 is probably more to keep overly anal guys from running to the shop any time something seems a little different.

I really think a lot of it has to do with the dealer and what kinda relationship you have with them and how good of a relationship they have with GM. 50,000 miles and did not have to anty up with the $100.00. Yes to have a set put in would be a real budget buster, $600.00 list ea. + 8 hrs labor

Just had my second set of injectors replaced, First set at 11K miles, second set at @ 20K. They never said anything about $100. I personally wouldn't be happy with having to pay the $100, provided the truck is under warranty, and the company knows that they have bad injectors out there.

For first the 3 years/36K miles there is no $100 deductible (whole truck), everything is covered at no cost. After that, the 5year/100K mile engine warranty takes over. The engine warranty has a $100 deductible for each visit.

The only place I have read where the $100 does not apply is in the special notice that the 2001-2002 owners received from GM where they extended the injector warranty to 7 years/200K miles. This is for injectors only on 2001 and 2002 models.

Thats great for the 01 and 02 owners, what about 03 owners? This is the 2 nd time to the dealer for injectors on my 03 with 59000 miles. Any word on extending warranty on 03 trucks?

They charged me the $100, which I figured they would. Mine went out about the same time as yours. A few weeks later I received a check for $100 from the dealer with a letter saying GM was covering the deductible.

I didn't pay anything for the first set at 52,000, or the second set at 104,000, but was charged $7,200.00 plus for the third set at 178,000 and was told to seek re-imbursment from GM
I got rid of the truck at 227,000 when the third set was leaking into the oil.

Wow!!! I bleed Chevy/GMC orange but would have dropped GM "like a rock," after a second set of injectors needed to be installed.:( Your a trooper!!!

Sorry to be a rookie about this but: I have an 01 Duramax i just purchsed and do not know if my injectors have been replaced. Should they fail, Am I covered under that 01-02 umbrella to not have to pay a dealer. I am at 115K currently

You should be covered for the injectors with no deductible till 200k

If you post your VIN in the "VIN Check" section one of the tech's will be able to look it up for you and tell you All the work the truck has had since new through a GM dealer.
