What are the advantages of installing a high idle kit on my 03 duramax

It will help bring the trucks temp up a little quicker during cold temp.

If engine accessory belt applications (i.e. air compressor) are being utilized, they may be required.

:iamwithst I use mine alot for those reasons. I also have used it to jump start a backhoe, bring the charge rate up when the rpm is higher. When the truck sits and idles for a while I like to hit the high idle for a bit so I can get the oil circulating and the temps up in the engine to reduce glazing the cylinders and reduce fuel in oil.


Once you put it on you will find that you will use it more than you thought.;)

A higher idle will also keep the AC cooler on hot days but then that is probably useless info to you guys in WI. :D
