I wonder why Banks hasn't come out with anything for test results publicly yet?

Guess it's up to Juice to come threw.

My question is..Why does the the Big Hoss Bundle for the LLY cost close to $1000 more than the previous 6-Gun Bundle??? The only difference is the intercooler, come on an intercooler can't cost that much.

Yes sir they do.
A big Air to Air iItercooler can cost $1000 + . Liquid intercoolers can be $1700 +.
Will they help over the stock duramax intercooler is another question.

the IC cores are always the most expensive parts, then add for the sleeves being welded on, brackets, etc.. the price will get up there. the one on my car was 800 just for the IC and its a 1/3 the size of the one in my Duramax.

the cheapy IC cores have too much drop off because of poor design.

Bar and Plate CAC's cost more than the simple tube and fin types to make.

The big question is will it help and does it cause the vehicle to overheat in warm weather pulling loads. A larger intercooler sheads more heat into the cooling stack if it's working and with the LLY already is in trouble in this area, it may become a problem.

But if you don't put the additional/larger CAC in the stack stream, like below the stack, it should help by shedding heat outside the stack air. I'm trolling for a pre-oem cooler to place below the stack in its own airstream,

I have the Banks intercooler installed. I have not seen any dramatic differences. My boost is the same or one pound less, measured at the waste gate line. The exhaust temps seem to be lower, but how can you be sure? At the track I am still 1600 plus at the ¼ mile. It does seem to take less time for it to cool off to 300 before I shut it down though. Worth the $$$$’s, ……?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

I am a level one dealer for Banks, so I did not pay retail. Send me a PM if you want a quote.
