i'm looking to put an aftermarket stereo in 88 K5 blazer 6.2 and i'm wonerding if anyone ran into any problems. i'm also wondering how it all hooks up on a dual battery set up. also if anyone has pictures of their speaker placement on an old blazer i'ld love to see them.

now, due to the fact that this probobly isn't a military version, you will more than likley have a 12 volt system. if your over concious of it, a multi tester can be had for cheep money. one thing to note, your local best buy store or circut city can easily help you with this issue due to the fact that they have a computer system to help them install this type of thing.
If you want to be sure, isolate the radio with the positive and negative from one battery. that will be 12 volts. as to speaker placement, GM didn't have pro's on this subject. you can do stock, or you can buy some PA drivers that will help you feel the noise if you wish. I was the guy who had a "barn door" suburban that had speakers mounted for outdoor party's on both the doors. when those doors were shut, you could feel your pantlegs move and you didn't hear the open exhuast.
hopefully I helped. I'll share more ideas if you really wish. I personally put the stereo that I wanted to listen to into my old squad car and put pipes on my truck. you may have a different wish. if your lookin for amps and speakers, look at www.partsexpress.com (http://www.partsexpress.com)
they have been a nice company to work with in my quest for sound.
