maybe that coolant hose is worn at the top

If its not the lower hose or clamp then that is the water pump weep hole area... Notice the A/C compressor up top... I`d bet money it the water pump and not the hose... Been there done that...:(

thanks for the advice guys. i parked the truck today at around 5 and just now looked at it and no coolant has leaked anymore. it seems to leak when the truck is running and for about 15min after a shutdown. now this picture is of the lower radiator hose leading into im guessing the water pump bc right above it is the power steering pump. all of this is located on the driver side.

Yep the lower hose is connected to the outer housing of the water pump which is sandwiched between it and the timing cover the pump is driven by the cam gear assembly...

well just a update...finally got the pump off today and let me tell ya if u dont enjoy working on vehicles, dont do it. our hardest part was the fan...i rented a fan clutch removel kit and it didnt come with the tool to hold the pully...we tryed everything to hold that pully and finally found a place that sold that special tool. when we got it, the fan came off in about 10 sec and then 10 min later the pump came off. so tomorrow we gonna put the new one back on and get her all buttoned up

another update...got the pump from napa and got home and took the old pump out of the housing and started to check the housing out and saw a little chunk of metal missing where the fins of the pump run. so i went to go find a new cover and no parts stores have them and the dealer said they may beable to get me one so i will have to go back up there...dealers really rip you off to bc at napa the pump alone was 139 dollars and the dealer wants 230 for a pump and 70 for the cover. so if they can get me a cover im gonna try and just pay for the cover but for now i just gotta wait

well another update...got everything done finally...there was one bad part about it that me very very very mad...so the housing that the pump sits in had a chunk of metal out of it so i wanted to get a new one, went to the dealer again today to see if he had got the housing in and he didnt...his answer was this...bc GM is trying to cut back on what they have to pay for, GM decided to stop making the housing and just make the pump and if i wanted a new housing it will be in October 17th. and i thought what the heck, you gotta be kidding me...so word of advice, if u do a water pump, be very very very careful with the housing, its ur only one unless u go to a junkyard!

Only other thing I can tell ya on this subject is my mig machine does wonders on alum. and sounds alot cheaper too... My housing was fine but I have repaired a couple on other types of engines so might be another solution for future ref...?
Good to hear you got it done none the less...
