How do I go about getting a larger fuel fill neck? I am going to be installing a new supertank and access is going to be easier. Thanks

I hat to be the one to do this....but I sure don't mean it it a smarta$$ way......do a search for fill neck or filler neck. I posted the part number for the one for the 4500/LLY and you can use it without using the trnsferflow kit. The supertank will allow you an external vent and you should be able to handle any pump you may stop at.....

I think it was around 30 bucks or something...shipped.

I looked. I found the part number and looked. Will this work for what I need? I went to GMpartsdirect.com and it lists it as a pipe. What does this pipe do?

I also called transfer-flow and they will not sell me a larger filler neck since I have the supertank. What gives?

I talked with the Supertank people and they said to remove the inner lining and that works well. From what I have been reading, that makes matters WORSE. Thanks.

The new fill neck has an external vent that will allow the use of the large fuel nozzle and a new line that will be used as the vent. That allows the whole fill neck to be used to transfer flow....as well as a new line to allow even more air to escape while filling. Removing the inner lining is a patch and will still cause wet shoes....

The pipe as they call it is the new fill neck.

So all I would need to get is this "pipe".

I called supertanks again and they said that my new tank is the old style and should have the vent on the back of the tank and that by removing the inner lining and I can then tap into the venting area. I hope this makes sense. Is the added benefit worth all the headache trying to get it all fingered out?

My tank has a plugged vent tube coming out of the top back of the tank. Have to remove the tank to find it. Wonder if that vent was uncapped it would help filling once the inner sleeve is removed?

The inner sleeve is the vent....removing it only allows air to escape as an opening occurs around the fuel rushing in. Yes, if there is a vent at the top of that tank...if I remember correctly, someone mentioned something about a line going from the front to the back of the tank to allow equalized pressure when filling......If you tap/tee into that line, just run it up to the pipe.....now you can take the big nozzle and fill wide open. Just make sure you are continually gaining ground going to the pipe, if fuel gets in the line, it will not allow it to work properly.

Supertanks said that there is a vent on the back and that would tap into the vent line. Sounds like it should work then. Thanks alot.
