Accidentally put 6.7 gallons of gasoline in fuel tank approximately 20%. I then topped the tank off with diesel fuel. Drove about 40 miles and topped off tank again with diesel fuel and a quart of 5-30 oil. I have repeated several more 3 gallon additional diesel fuel additional fill ups trying to lower the amount of gasoline in the fuel. The truck seems to run fine but I am sure I damaged something. Oh have added Service Power additive at 1 oz to 3 gallons of diesel fuel as I always have done. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.:eek:

Your fine! Calm down.. Haha! I did the exact same thing and posted almost word for word what you just posted! It's been done many times, do a search and you will find many posts on it.

You might think about using 2 stroke oil instead of 5w30 but that's just what I would do

I was on the thruway when I screwed up I put in the motor oil becase thats all I could get at the time. I hope there is no damage:(

Some guys even cut diesel with gasoline in the winter for anti gel; you're OK

Thanks for the input I was afraid at the least I would be ruining the fuel pump not to mention the injectors or getting too much bang in the cylinders stretching the head bolts causing a head gasket failure. I hope all will be ok as you folks seem to think.:o:

I have yet to do this, although I tried to put Diesel in wife's Pilot 1 time a while back half asleep and luckily the filler hole is smaller. Not sure what would happen doing this and good you didn't put too many gallons (6.5) in your Duramax! Good luck and you should be fine as my in-law did this to his truck with no problems 2 years later.

ZuesSuz, diesel goes to bottom of tank, Pilot goes couple of blocks.......drain tank and refill with gasoline......that's what would happen if you are interested. LOL.
