pedal to the floor = limp mode
I have a 2005 Duramax that runs great if you baby the pedal but if you mat it will go right into limp mode, I have a secondary filter system installed and changed both filters and it still does it, took it into the stealership and all they want to do is cut my new filters in half to check the fuel, they say there is a restriction somewhere (no Sh:mad:T) I cleaned my Air filter system and the MAF sensor, things improved but no pedal to the floor performance, could there be a restiction in the tank pickup? or some other place?

Tranny limp or engine limp? Either way if it's actually limping there will be codes. I suspect 1098, probably FPRV related. Try shimming it.

Hahaha, my apprentices forgot to read your signature!
You prolly over oiled your K & N, clean your MAF with some electrical contact cleaner. Ditch the K & N at first opportunity.
The truck will definately have stored codes, can you post them.

I thought he said he already cleaned his MAF?? NOt exactly what happened to me but when my egr valve went out my truck ran like crap. NOt sure if it could be that or not but an egr blocker is very cheap.

FPRV - fuel pressure relief valve.
it will limp the engine and not leave any code. easing into the throttle will let you accelerate, but if you push down it will limp again.
reason I know this is I just went through it and replaced it.

it's easy to change..and it's under the glow plug module on the drivers side.
read the other post...."Pretty sure it's the FPRV..."...see if that sounds familiar before you purchase and throw parts at it.

I had the same problem a month ago. Going to shim the fprv when the truck comes back from the body shop.
