Did my disk brakes yesterday. I was gonna let the dealer do them but I wanted to make sure that everything was loose as posted here by heymccall. Took all day with two of us. Just about everything was frozen. 3 sets of brake pads look new. Had to hammer them out of the caliper. 1 set was badly worn on one pad. Three rotors were delaminated. The last was gouged up. In 28k, looks like the truck was stopping on one tire. We used a rattail file and grinder so new pads float freely. We used silicone grease on posts. Pulling the speed sensors on each front hub was tricky. The Torx T55 on the rear were a pain. Got the new rotors and ceramic pads at Carquest for $369 all around. If I was doing it again, I would get the hex head replacements for the torx before I started. Truck definitely stops better now than it ever has. heymccall, Thanks for all the info.

Your very, very welcome. BUT, I've got a brand new '09 in the shop for accessory upfit, and your 28k story is really making me wanna take this one apart now, instead of in the aftermath. Alas, I had problems at 18k and 22k on my 07.5s with brake fit and especially lube.
Maybe after the CB, 2way Radio, Voltage inverter, LED strobes, transfer tank, step bars, transfer tank pump, custom headache rack, rear hitch insert, 7 pin blade to 7pin rd trailer plug, bugshield, ventshades, crossover tool box, 2 way radio antenna, CB antenna, and custom switches are done, I'll knock the wheels off. Oh yeah, already ditched the OEM rubber. New Hankook RF10's.

That's probably the best way to go. I wish I had checked mine earlier. 1953drtelco, make sure you have an impact wrench, breaker bar, t55, 18mm and 13/16 impact sockets.
