Just wondering if there is any advice for me.
My Truck is doing the same tell tale signs Rough Idle, White smoke, Smelly Exhaust.
Took it to Stealer and he just called and left a message (since i'm out of town) Said its Not the injectors and that they just need to do maintenance which will cost $900 but I am 100% sure it is the exact same problem I have had last time the injectors failed.
What should I do?
I haven't spoken to the dealer yet, are there special questions I should ask? Or should I ask them for test results?
I am so frustrated, and I am right at the cut off for the warantee so I can't wat much longer.
What to do?

Tell them to look at balance and return rates, there are margins they need to be in, if its outside those margins its the injectors. What is this "maintenance" consist of for 900 bucks?

Well I finally heard back from the dealer,
He says that the injectors were tested and that they are all good and that a couple are borderline were they might be going bad, he then said that they recomend a new fuel filter, cleaning my K&N air filter, cleaning the carbon off my injectors, and glow plugs (which he said might be going bad but were not related) for a total of $900.00
I told him that apart from the glow plugs those were all pretty simple things that I could do myself for less.
I asked if he had a copy of the balance and return rates for me to look at and he said: well ,no the technitian will write down if they are within the limits, but we dont print that out because it would be too much paper ( what an excuse).
He also said that the injector cleaning was a "special flush" that they run through the injectors.
I feel that they are probably giving me the run around since I am almost at the end of my warantee they will put a band-aid on it for now and hope that I will pay for it myself later.
I guess I have to pick it up and figure out what I can afford to do next.

Clean the carbon off of your injectors??? I'm no mechanic but I've NEVER heard of that - are they going to take them out or... How in the heck does that work?
They sound like a piece of work, run far far away...
Glow plugs 'might be going bad' ... wtf?? Your transmission and bottom end of your motor 'might be going bad' why don't they replace those also??
This sounds real shady man, I'd tell him to run the damn balance rate test again and you'll give him the the nickel for the paper.

I would not pay for that diagnostic, they should give you a print out of the balance and return rates he's blowing smoke up your you know what.

Take it to another dealer!! Same thing happened to me. The dealer that I bought it from gave me the runaround close to what you are getting. Took it to a different dealer, they run the tests. To make a long story short, next day my truck was ready to go with new injectors.

does anyone know of any dealers in or near the Palm Springs area? Other than Jessup Auto, and Indio GMC- that is?
And on a side note- would this ever warrant the Lemon Law regarding these injector problems?

I think 20,000+ psi of fuel pressure will clean the carbon off just fine
