Got the PPE Standard yesterday afternoon and put in #2 tune. I 've been driving easy so tranny can re-learn.. I am in Fl. On the same FLAT road I have been driving for the past 6 years with the cruise set at 67 mph the MPG went from 18.3 to 22.1. NO BS. Either the PPE Tuner meets or excedes their claims or PPE's computer geeks really know how to screw with a DIC 's info.
I never expected this much MPG gain. I wished I had purchased it long ago.

I hope this is not a fluke

when you install a programmer the dic shows you get much better mpg than you really are. Hand calculate it for more accuracy. my dic says anywhere from 23-25 on the highway with my ppe standard and i only get about 21-22 hand calc.

My truck has never seen over 18.3 Hand calculated. In fact I run 2 GPS. (i have OCD).and compare milage to the odometer. It's off 1.3 mi . every 60 mi traveled 58.7 actual with 265's. Fuel has always been right on according to my reciepts.....I would be real happy with 21-22..

From an older post:
Just turned :
2000 HRS
81,956 Mi.
5,325 gals of fuel used

So Averaged 40.9 miles per hour, 15.3 gals per mile, or used 2.6 gals of fuel per hour.

Update: After 30 days with PPE set on Level 2, with a combination of towing ,local and highway driving I show an honest gain of 2.6 mpg.
Finally a company that lives up to it's claims (2-3 mpg)

great to see the increased mpg but do really notice the extra power on level 2 how the drivability do like the ppe standard how would you rate it

I noticed pretty decent power runnin my LBZ with stock exhasut on level 2. I am now on level 4 with my current mods and love it. I think I will back it off to level 3 though as I am putting new tires on and don't need to be burning them off.

Yes on power. truck will chirp tires shifting between 1&2 , 2&3 . however I drive it like I have an egg between my foot and accellerator pedal, hence better mpg. Yes I like it. Scale of 1-10. I'd give it a 9. Instructions that came with it are "lacking". + its box is too small

I wish I could say that with my truck and ppe standard. I can't spin or chirp the tires unless I go around a corner on levels 3 and 4. I haven't tried level 5 yet. Love the tuner for it's features but honestly I feel that the edge on level 4-5 feels stronger. It will burn the tires in those levels. If edge didn't shift so bad I would use it for the power instead of the gauges.

Probably mine being an EC SB helps on the chirping. plus I run 70lbs of air in tires . i don't plan to go past Level 2 till tranny mods are in place.

My trucks tires chirp between 1st and 2nd also, but I have the Hot +2 E.T., the E.T. stands for no defueling of engine between shifts for faster 0-60MPH times. Normal driving, light pedal, no tire chirping or hard shifting..

I have the Hypertech MaxEnergy tuner and it apparently does not change how the MPG is calculated. The gallons used on the my DIC is extremely accurate to actual gas in gas out method. I constantly veryify this almost each time I fill up, if any variance, it is usually slightly conservative. This is true with the stock tune or with a MaxEnergy tune. Mayby I'm lucky. I have just over 70,000 miles on my 07 Classic CC LBZ.

I would not want a PPE if they alterred this. I was actually thinking about changing to the PPE as a local Diesel Shop claims it is better for the motor than other tuners. I primarily only use a low tune like the Tow Tune or one notch higher.

I like level two, decent mileage and performance gain. No need for me to spin tires just enjoy having the little extra HP/TQ. Its a good tuner for the money.

I have a PPE Hot, on Level 2, been running it about 4 weeks now, Not sure on the milage since been having FUN with the go pedal, and I have been mostly in the city. The Drivability is excellent, huge improvement over stock. Combine this with the PPE airbox mod, and either a Muffler Delete or Catback and a PPE blocker plate, works amazing.

Just finished a 700 mile tow pulling 5,000 lbs. Interstate @ 76 mph I got 16.3 on level 2 (which i get on Level ! truck alone).Level 1 mpg is no better than stock. PPE ought to make level 2 # 1 and step up the other tunes , so level 5 would be 265 hp.

i know there is nothing worse than driving your truck on the stock setting. How do you like that efi live is complicated to use?

PPE Ecomomy is 449.99. The Economy only has 3 tunes in it. The Standard has 5 tunes in it and is a little more about 539.99.
