Had the dealer adjust the puter to allow for airing down the rears when not towing. Had him set the rears at 40psi and the fronts for 50 psi. Now when i air down the rears I don't get the light anymore, but still get the check rear pressures at every start up. Is it possible to widen the parameters to never see the warning as long as it=s within cammanded range?

I had the dealer reset my tpms also. While the tech II was hooked up I asked the mechanic if he could just disable the thing or at least widen the range. He said that all he has control over was the threshold adjustment number setting. When your tire pressure deviates approximately 22% over or under the tpms setting you'll get the check tire pressure message. So to avoid that the number needs to be set in the middle of your tire pressure operating ranges.

Warning Warning Will Robinson!
It will got off at 15psi over or under. So at only 40psi threshold rear you will have a warning at 55psi and above. (40 is a bit low to set the threshold at IMHO).
You would be better off at a 55psi setting, which would allow a range from 40 to 70 psi with no warnings.......

That sucks. I was sure i read on here somewhere if you set it low it won't warn you if it was high. I air up to 80psi with the fiver, and down to 40-45 when empty.

I set mine at 50 all the way around - live with the light when towing.

I`m assuming your talking about your 09.
I had this done on mine, but mine is a 3500 SRW, maybe yours would be close to the same settings.
Depending on what tires came with your truck, and what the rear psi stated on your door.
You had the dealer re-calibrate the rears and they basicly now should be the same as the fronts.
Minimum should now be 42 for the low warning light to come on, max is around 76-78 for me when the high pressure will warn.
Of course this is for E rated tires, I don`t know what tires you are running.
Before I had this done 62 for the rears was the lowest I could run the air pressure before the low air warning would light up.
If so just try bringing the pressure up to 42 psi cold.
I run 60 fronts, 46 rears, I bring the pressure up to 75 rears with 5th wheel.
I will get a high pressure warning about 76-78 lbs, which I have to ignor now. I just change dic.
I have found every place that had used a standard tire pressure gauge on my truck, at least 3 + my 2 , everyones was about 2-3 pounds lower than what the tire monitor stated.
Several on D.P. has turned the tire monitor air pressure discussion into a major science engineering project.
If you have a tire gauge see how it compairs to your monitor, you will have to go by the monitors air pressure to make it happy so you won`t get a warning.

My guage also reads a couple psi less. What did the dealer set yours to for the range you get on the rears?

Best use the TPM as reference and a warning. Use your gage for setting the tires accurately obviously.

The same as the fronts.
Of course I practicially had to pull teeth to get er-done.
It was noted on the work order was not able to make changes, to make GM happy

You are ok on the fronts between 42 to 76-80 with out warnings
Also where did you find that AFE drop in?
From a local and pretty much nationwide shop "4 Wheel Parts".
They seem to be the only one in Arizona that carries aFe products and have them on the shelf.
Several vendors sell them on D.P. or call aFe direct you can buy from aFe
1-877-512-8111 or they can tell you if you have any dealers in your area and give you the phone #`s.
What I have found other shops will have to order the filter.
