Take measurements to see if truck is even side to side. Truck must be on level ground.
1. Jack up truck to unload suspension, you can do this one wheel at a time if you want.
2. Spray WD40 on torsion adjuster bolt
3. Turn the bolts to desired ride height. Start with something like 3 turns each. Make equal number of turns to each bolt, assuming each side is even in ride height. When checking for even height between left and right, make sure to drive the truck forward and backward to settle the suspension.
4. Have truck re-aligned. May not be necessary if you don't lift it too much.

Spot on. #1 is a very important step many people overlook and it causes the bolt to sieze.

Can some one post a pic of where the torsion bars are I am new to trucks... I am pretty mechanically inclined so I will no problem doing it right... I put coilovers on my car so I know I can handle this, I just don't know what to turn... LOL

crawl under your truck, you will see 2 bars that go from under the front seat area to the lower front a-arms. Back under the seat area you will see a adjusting bolt that is connected to a cam that connects to the T-bar.

basically you are looking for a crossmember under the cab. It probably has a warning sticker on it. Also this crossmember has 2 cutout areas that allow access to the bolts you will crank on. They should be 18mm.

Thanks, that is exactly the detail of instructions I was hoping for.

Im going to give this a try weekend after next. Towing the camper next weekend so thats kinda out of the question.

I just want the truck not to look like its dropped down in the front like it does now. Been that way since I got it, all the other 06s look the same way.

last question,
Is there a reason that it is low in the front from the factory?

Thanks guys, I am going out side to do that in a few minutes....

MD my guess is so when you have a load in the bed or on the hitch it doesn't ride with the front so high... You have to remember these trucks were made to do work...

Edit: So I turned it up it looks a lot better but it is still 1" lower than the rear.. I take it its not a good idea to turn those bolts all the way in?

X2. Also, you might need to adjust headlights afterwards, especially when towing the lights might shine too high.

you can level it if you want (and there is enough threads). If there isn't enough threads, there are "keys", as in the metal piece the bolt goes into, that attachek to the bars. IIRC the 1500 keys will allow you to crank the front end higher. if you get to high, the front CV's (4X4) will start to have issues, and you need a lift kit, not a leveling kit. I find the ride is much better if you can just slide your finger between the a-arm and the yellow jounce bumper.
Remember when you load the truck, the rear end squats, and a truck dragging its butt looks really stupid....

can you unscrew the bolts to lower the front when the front end is on the ground?I mean can you measure it and then just climb under it and lower it or do you have to jack the front up every time and then lower it to measure?was just wondering cause mine seems to be too high and wanted to lower it a bit.

Even though you are going down I would still recommend to jack it up, because there is still pressure on the bolt....

Its really not that big of a deal to jack it up, considering the consequences if you seize that bolt or strip it...
