While pulling my 29ft 5th wheel camper today I noticed that the transmission temp got higher than in the past.

It was below the red line but not by much. At the same time my cel showed p0401 and I just thought it had something to do with the transmission but have found out since that that is the egr valve code.

Is this a problem do you think. Should I take it to the dealer.

Have you changed the allison spin on filter lately?

About 15k ago.

Check that your fluid level is not too HIGH.

Proper level should be in the lower hashed part of the HOT band at 175F.

It should not be above the top of the HOT band upper hashed area at 200F. If you are at the top at a lower temp it is overfilled.

I will check the fluid level but I don't think that is the problem since I have driven the truck and pulled my camper quite a bit this summer and have had no problem.
