Any tips for lubricating the power window assembly? It makes a heck of a racket going up/down. What lubricant and technique? Thanks, Brian

My passenger side window does this too, seemed to just start recently. Quite annoying. I hope someone knows a fix for this.

Why does this occur? Is it just from getting less use? My passenger side does it as well but only faintly, I'm sure it will get worse without some attention though.

I thought I was the only one with this problem My pass window does it also, but not from lack of use. It's on my list of warranty repairs to be done. When fooling with it, I noticed that my passenger window motor doesn't seem to have the same strength as the other windows. I thought it was a weak motor, but now I'm second guessing that if I'm not the only one having the problem.

When I hit both buttons simultaneously with the auto open the driver side is down at least a full second faster and there is no question which is faster to close.

Spray some silicone lubricant in the window channels.

Quick and easy.

I tried that, but it didn't make a difference. Maybe I did it wrong.

Used regular silicone spray lubricant. Do you just do the rubber or further down the door channel. How do you keep the lubricant from smearing the window during use? Or does it dry and not cause smearing after it's applied?

Window down.

Liberally spray inside rear and front channels with silicone lubricant with the red plastic hose on it. Make sure to spray the bottoms as far down as you can reach.

Yes it makes an initial smeary mess.

That or wait until something esle needs dealer attention and take it in under warranty.

Out of warranty here doh!!!

Sorry:o:

I was seeing 2005 and 2003 trucks in the sigs. Both of which should still be under warranty.

Unless, of course you drive the snot out of them.

(I have a 15 month old truck with 6600 miles on it!)

Out of warranty here doh!!!

Let's see - take it to the dealer, wait an hour or two, or have to drop it off and pick it up or take 2 minutes to fix it myself??

DOH!!!!

No need to apologize - warranty is the easy answer. Your suggestion helped alot of people who may be out of warranty or those that can do the no-brainer fix by themselves. There wouldn't be any info on this site if everyone just relied on the "warranty" answer.

Thanks for your help.

How easy is it to get the side door panel off? My motor just died, I think!!
