I have an 85 6.2 military blazer, I have an 85 civy donor truck, is it possible to convert the standard steering column to tilt just by changing the tilt assembly, or must I change the whole column?

You have to change the whole column. It's not as hard as it looks. Drop the column before trying to unplug the wiring on the top of it.
