Got my Travel Trailer out of the Moth Balls today. Taking our first trip next week. Went to my workplace (about 10 miles) to put air in the tires and adjust the new prodigy brake control. All I can say is wow. 8000# to a Dmax is absolutely nothing, which I knew in the first place. Quite a difference from my 99 2500 6.0 even though it had 4.10 gears. If you can't decide between the 2, go with the Dmax.:D

Congrats on your truck. You will enjoy the extra low end torque and power the DMax puts to the wheels. JJ :)

All I can say I can't wait unitl I get my 2005, 3500 out from the dealer ship at the end of June. Will make my first tow the end of July should have a few thousand on by than, for all I read the Duramax will be a far cry better than the 6.0 I have in my 1500HD now when I pull my 5er which weighs in at 8500 dry and 10,800 fully loaded.

Took my first trip over the weekend. Winding, hilly roads for the most part (48 miles each way) Truck never broke out a sweat towing 8000# trailer and about a 1000# worth of goods that I sell. ( I'm a vendor at RV shows)
Much more stable ride even though my 99 Silverado was also a 2500.
