I have an 03' 3500 that has a edge ez on it. I got a BD Intimidator for my birthday and have tried to install it. I removed the Edge EZ and then followed the directions for the new tuner. It gets to the part about verifying the VIN code and freezes. It wont progress beyond this point. I sent the tuner back and had it reprogrammed, thinking it was the tuner. I just got it back and now it freezes in the same spot.
I have had 2 electrical issues lately that I think might be the problem. 1. When you start the truck most of the time, the clock on the radio resets to 12:00, and the other, I just had to jump the truck off once lately. It has been showing a 14 volt charge, and the batteries are less than 6 months old.

Does anyone have any ideas on this whole mess??

Did you remove any fuses when trying to load it?
I usually make sure everything is turned off before I load anything, and seems to work fine without pulling fuses. Also make sure your key is in the on position. When I first got my programmer it was doing the same thing cause the key wasn't all the way on.

I did pull the fuses as instructed by the owners manual. I tried it without the fuses pulled too but did not make sure everything was off. Seems that the Duramax is pretty sensitive about taking tuners. I will try a few things tomorrow but dont want to fry the ECM. When I got the first tuner..it did identify the VIN but failed to load. I just get a gut feeling that whatever is making the clock reset to 12:00 is part of the problem. Seems to me that some keep alive power is not powered or is getting power cut as truck starts.

Probably what your problem is. But , I hate to say it, you could take it to the dealer or somewheres else and have the ECM flshed to see if that works.
Or find someone with a different programmer and see if that one loads.
