My truck lost its temp/compass readout on the mirror a couple days back and I didn't pay attention to it but now my airbag light in the dash cluster is on all the time. I was wondering what is going on and if it has anything to do with a low circuit voltage problem I've been getting intermittently, and if this might also mean I need new batteries. My trucks gat 150000kms on original batteries

The truck is controlled by computers. Low voltage would be my first guess. If you had new batteries I would say start looking at grounds.
Truth is with the age of the truck and the mileage you have, I would change the batteries without even testing them. Even if the batteries weren't the problem, the old batteries would of left you stranded soon.

Mine did the same thing and it was a blown fuse. I'll bet if you try your cruise control it won't work either because its on the same fuse. IIRC its a 10A fuse under the hood in the panel.

Had the same problem. Under hood fuse fixed it. 10 amp. I believe.
